Is smoking pine cones bad for you?

I have a lot of pine trees around me and I am always picking up fallen cones and branches. They are good fuel for my wood burner but I am careful not to let that smoke into the house. it goes up the chimney. read more

Of course smoking pine cones is bad for you! Smoking anything is bad for you! The lungs are remarkable organs. They are filled with microscopic alveoli, little sacs where oxygen is absorbed into the blood stream. Anything that interferes with that process will be harmful. Smoking with twigs and pine cones is not the same as cooking with pine wood as a primary fuel source or as a chunks for smoke only. And, if I am remembering correctly, the smoke is not applied for the whole time the ham is in the heat. read more
