Although we are talking about McDonalds salt and I'm guessing that McDonalds doesn't use too much MSG although you would have to read all the ingredients of every product they have to know for sure if they do and even then they can conceal what they put in their food by claiming that it is a trade secret like a Secret Sauce etc. read more

After reading this I tried their fries and realized that the salt isn't as salty as either iodized or kosher salt. Now I cannot find where I read this, or what type of salt it was. As a frame of reference, think about how many salt granules are on a single fry. If you were to salt a fry and put that much salt on it, it would be way too salty. But McDonald's fries, although salty, aren't overly salty. read more
